Yes, but I really didn't have any idea of the vast number of Christian fiction authors and books until about eleven years ago. In my mind it was only Christian romance, or Christian historical fiction, other than the Narnia series.I didn't really know there were Christian mysteries, thrillers, fantasy, scifi, horror, etc novels. I have to admit I'm still not fond of horror in the Christian realm of writing, but it's great to be able to recommend Perretti to people who love to read that genre, but don't know that there's a Christian author out there writing it. I think it's funny that your library didn't know.

Yep, yep, yep. I knew about Christian Fiction before I knew what Christians were, or fiction, for that matter. :P Statistics prove that exaggeration is a common practice with many people. Um... LOL

Haha, well, what you might be noticing is more of a market-driven bias rather than a purposefully desire to portray men. lol After all, publishers want to sell books and they're pretty sure that romance readers would rather pay money to read about the guys of their dreams. Right or wrong, so it is.

....For me personally, I have noticed this. I am the first to admit that I do so love Henry Tilney (of Northanger Abbey), but that's probably because he is so darn perfect. I mean, really, a guy who loves books, is ever happy, well mannered AND knows woman's fashion. ;)

Ah, the books vs. movie debate. It will never end, though it is fun. ;) No worries over whether you have or have not read any of the books I've talked about, but I will say, of all the fiction books I've reviewed so far, this is my favorite!

And I wouldn't worry too much about it being a "romance." The musical version is more of a romance than the book. In fact, the writers of the musical specifically said that they enhanced the romances whilst cutting out the darker, more crime novel side. So, since more people know the musical they tend to think it was originally a romance.

Oh, there is a love story entwined in the whole thing. What one might call, "a love triangle." I have to say, I think the movie is sadder than the book just because it puts so much emphasis on the emotional side.

While things don't turn out so rosy for the Phantom in the end, I have to say I was satisfied with the way it ended. Everything felt like it was settled right. You know?

You can actually download the ebook version of B&N's Phantom for four dollars and read it right away. The Kindle version is free to download, though I don't know what type of notes they include. Both systems let you download their reading software for free. :)

Oh, and I don't read French either...C'est la vie mon amie. ;)
